Charleston, SC – Charleston Academy today announced John Forman as its Technical Director who will be responsible for assisting with the hiring, management and ongoing training of Charleston Academy’s coaching staff.
John has coached both domestically at the collegiate level and internationally at both the collegiate and professional level. Domestically he coached for Dean College, University of Rhode Island, Brown University and most recently at Midwestern State University. Internationally he coached in Germany (Bühl and Potsdam), Sweden (Svedala Volleybollklub) and England (Exeter University). He also co-founded and managed what remains the largest club in Rhode Island, Blast Volleyball. He has a BS in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island, an MBA from University of Maryland and a PhD in Behavioral Finance from Exeter University. He also has published ‘Volleyball Coaching Wizards’ (Interviews of the World’s Top Coaches) and runs the blog coachingvb.com.

His vast global and domestic experience and relationships in the game was just what we were looking for in a Technical Director to establish the standard we expect of our players and coaches. Charleston Academy expects to announce staff coaches between now and October 1. Tryouts for 14U & Younger are October 28-29 at 1PM at Shipyard Park and for 15U & Older are November 10 at 1PM at Shipyard Park. You can register now through our Bronze Membership.
